In English grammar, the irregular verb be is an important auxiliary verb (also known as a helping verb), both in the present tense and in the past. Be has three forms in the present: I am; You (We, They) are; He (She, It) is.
be動(dòng)詞是系動(dòng)詞的一種,表示“……是……”的意思,F(xiàn)在式(The Present Forms)有am,is,are三種。這三種動(dòng)詞的原形是be,所以它們稱為be動(dòng)詞。
名詞單數(shù)+is
My friend is Mia.
名詞復(fù)數(shù)+are
We are good friends.

There is/are用于表示某物或某人的存在。
